Does anyonne have a tried and tested recipe for Apple & Elderflower wine?

I fancy making a nice light white and thought I'd try my hand at this....

Yup, wine no 1 made with apple and elderflower juice from Tesco. Not sure if they still have it, or if it was a summer thing. Took some to Goldseals the other week and it was a hit.

Not sure if I have any left, I'll check..

That sounds nice, and I'll give it a go, but I have some frozen elderflowers from last year that I fancied using up - hence my asking for a recipe.

Maybe I'll try and adapt a wine no1 using apple juice and then adding in the elderflowers.

      Hmmm....

I made a grape juice and elderflower at the same time, using grape juice from tesco and fresh frozen elderflowers.

        That was nice too!!

            errmmmm,,

I'll have a look for my notes next time I'm home. it was a bit sharper, and a bit weaker as it was going to get the sparkly treatment, then didn't..

Wine #1 makes a cracking elderflower wine.
Or you could do a cider kit concentrate, just increase the gravity to 1.080 and add the flowers toward the end of the ferment.

Excellent idea! How many flowers per gallon do you think?

About a table spoon is plenty, it should be a gentle flavour and bouquet rather than be dominant of the flower.

Well, I've got the steam juicer going to get me a litre of apple juice, and I'll add a litre of Grape juice plus the bits and then a 1/2 tablespoon dried elderflowers towards the end the ferment and report back how it goes.

My dogs managed to break into the garage over the weekend and eat half my store of apples, so I'm busy now finding ways to use up my remaining supplies to stop them stealing any more
