  • Sticky Willy Wine

    Hiya Guys

So I was watching my springer running round the garden scoffing Sticky Willy (goosegrass, cleavers, Galium aparine) as he does every year and my new wine mind thought, I wonder what that tastes like and can you make wine from it?!

So I had a nibble and it tastes a bit like peas. I had a look on tinternet and people have made tea and vinegars with it, but I couldn't find any wine recipies.

I'm planning on starting a nettle wine this weekend and thought maybe I could use the same recipe for the sticky willy.

    3qts Nettle tops
    sugar to 1.080
    1 lemon
    1 orange
    1ltr apple/white grape juice
    yeast and nutrient

What do you think? One, does this nettle recipe look ok and two, reckon I should try it with the lovely sticky willy?

    thanks

Yes, that's the stuff. Goose grass, sticky bobs, cleavers or sticky willy!
