Mulled wine

Seasonal greetings all,

Does anyone have foolproof additives or good recipes, so I can make some warming mulled wine from my bottles of less successful red wines, over the coming Christmas hols?

Has anyone made mulled wine from white wine? Or could I mix it with the red?

Not sure about white mulled wine, but you can buy Schwartz spices from supermarkets.

Instructions:-

1 bot Red wine
1/2 pint Water
1/2 pint Brandy
orange juice
I sliced orange
1 diced apple
3tbs castor sugar

Place wine in saucepan with water, orange juice, sugar and spices

Heat to just below boiling point and hold for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove sachet, add brandy and fruit.

I've done this a few times and it tastes scrummy

Just remember DO NOT BOIL the wine or all the alcohol will disappear.
