We're pleased you signed up too Durhamdale - you are very welcome.

I have only one piece of advice to give you - DON'T PANIC.

Just chill out, let the wine do its own thing and it will usually turn out well. Your wine is obviously starting to clear so give it a chance, and while you're waitng start another one.

The hardest thing to learn when you're new is patience, but it will pay dividends in the long run.

If you think the wine isn't degassed enough, do it again, it won't hurt.

How much sediment is laying at the bottom of the dj? Racking can help with clearing at this stage.

Good point Steve. Degssing and fining should be done with the wine at room temperature.

                      I wouldn't move it again...

It sounds like it is clearing, so I would wait for a bit and let it clear in its own time.

In the meantime, check out the degassing tutorial...

The most expensive I've seen was £7.99 but if you shop around you'll get cheaper than that. They come with 2 stoppers, but I'd recommend you get extra (about £3 for two) as they are really useful.

Haven't got time to get a link at the moment but will do so as soon as I can.
