Does anyone have any experience with all plastic wine bottle stoppers? I was thinking of getting some I could store standing up. Are they not for long term storage?

Here is a pic of what I mean

Yup not for long term storage and you will struggle to get them to fit some bottles.
If you want to go this route then I would advise the plastic topped corks.

OK thanks Duff, I have a load of plastic topped corks. I've recently been using Grade 1 straight corks but since I don't have the money to get a floor corker at the minute to cork 30 something bottles (got a 3 lever corker), I was thinking maybe doing this.... split a 5 gallon batch of wine into a polypin, bulk aging a couple gallons and corking and labelling some bottles for family members, You think that would work out ok?

Should work just fine, that's the way I often split a 5 gal batch.
