  • Rice and Raisin Wine Smell....

    I have been fermenting a rice and raisin wine for about five days.

    The recipe states to stir the wine every day for two weeks. Have been doing this but the last few days when taking the lid off the bucket the smell is pretty awful, which I guess might be expected when you put fruit/rice in water in a warm place.

    Has anyone else made this or a similar wine? If so did it smell bad during fermentation or has something gone wrong???

    I have made many batches of rice and raisin. I have also consluted SHMBO about any smell while fermenting we both agree that there wasn't any.
    Batch No1 comes out a nice light golden colour Batch No2 no colour at all just like water but wit a taste that I would pay quite a few bob to purchase .
    I think that I have read on this forum about not anough nutrient or something else missing?
