  • Wine no 1 maturing??

Im just moving the fermenting process from Glass Dj's to 25 Litre Buckets. Im basically upping the production rate. Thing is I know that wine no 1 is supposed to be a quick drinker and not left too long, but would there be any flavour improvements by leaving it for say a year? If I do that would I have to add any more chemicals to helps preserve the wine?

It will keep a year ok without extra sulphite additions, and should be better for it.

    regards

      Oh excellent. Thank you

I was thinking it may of needing doubling up on the Campden tablets or something, but it sounds like this is going to be the way forward for me

Was really a hectic day yesterday. I started my 25l of Wine number 1 yesterday, along with bottling 12 bottles that had cleared. I really dont know how some of you do it. Just doing that took me 3 hours
I think ive got to get a procedure sorted out in my head to allow me to save time. It seems to take me longer to sterilize everything than it does to make the stuff

Same here Darrel, botteling and getting the labels off are the worst thing, maybe one of those bottle trees would speed things up for you?, was thinking of buying one me-self

ditto flower, and one of those bottle washer squirty things, makes sterilising and rinsing so much quicker.

Ha ha! I was thinking along the lines of a Karcher pressure washer and an enolmatic......

Insecure people try to make you feel smaller.
