  • Grape and peach juice

Would this be OK to use for White wine #1?

The additives are a slight worry:

Water, Fruit Juice from Concentrate (40%), (White Grape (30%), Peach (10%)), Citric Acid, Acidity Regulator, Trisodium Citrate, Antioxidant, Ascorbic Acid, Natural Flavourings, Sweetener, Sucralose.

No sorbate, but I'm guessing the sweetners would have an odd effect on the taste? It also seems to already have citric acid in it, so I guess I'd have to omit that or half it from the recipe?

Sucralose is a phoney sugar, like nutra sweet or aspartame, I don't like the taste of any of them, but that is a personal choice. You will probably have less alcohol, and more sweet.

Depending on how much fruit juice wine you plan on making it may be worth while checking out the juices on offer in all the main supermarkets, including Lidl and Aldi. They often have offers, and you will almost certainly find something similar with less additives. Bit of a bore but worth it if these'll be your major brews. Like grandma i steer clear of artificial sweeteners, my guess is that it'll be hard to make a wine on the dry side with artificial sweeteners present, a guess because i never tried.
To most people solutions mean answers. To chemists solutions are things that are mixed up.

Yeah, I found a budget brand peach juice with no sweetners or sorbate so I bought that instead.

Do I take it I'd only need to use about half a litre of that per gallon of wine #1? And I guess I'll need a lot of pectolase for it?

Whenever I have substituted the apple, in a wine #1, for another juice... ie pineapple, or grapefruit, I have used the full litre. And I have added pectolase, as per the instructions on the tub, for thicker juices.

I have never made a peach one though
I really cant bear them in any shape or form

I made a fresh peach wine a few years ago and it was stunning...bugger to clear if i remember right
That recipe was 1/2 sugar 1/2 honey
My question is could we do that with wine#1?

The wine No1 is a recipe you can mess with in all sorts of ways, as it is a good base wine for experimentation.

Its the fuzzy stuff, that does it to me.
Can't do anything peachy flavoured either, because it reminds me of the fuzz
