  • Will this juice be ok for Wine No 1?

Tesco have a buy one get one free deal on Princes Apple and Elderflower fruit juice, does anyone know if it will be suitable to use with a carton of white grape juice to make a number one wine please?

    £1.29 for two.

I personally wouldn't simply because the major ingredient is listed as water, not juice, unless you're using just this juice, and not adding any water to the must.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than myself may disagree though.
With Grape flavour comes grape responsibility

So just a case of reducing the water you normally add.

Think I may give it a go then just to see what the difference is from the normal one.

        Ta.

I think that I'd concur with the others here.

If you're gonna try it, then make it from 4.5 litres of this "drink". That's the important bit, it's described as drink, not juice.

I'd think that it should be a nice one made like that, and not with just a litre or two and adding extra water (they've already done that for you).

            regards

Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the street with a bald head and a beer gut, and still think they are sexy.

Sorry for being a bit dense, I haven't made any number one wine (well I haven't made any wine for about 18 months, went a bit mad at first, was something to take my mind of losing our 12 year old dog, then we got another after a 12 month gap and I gave up on the wine making!).

Anyway, have decided to have another go at it after bottling a demijohn of Ancient Orange Mead that I had forgotten all about.

I see you say use 4.5l but as these are on BOGOF should I use four of these plus a litre of white grape?

buy 4 but only use 3 plus one white grape plus 700g sugar. that will give 1 gallon ie 4.5ltr or near enough

I made a batch using Copelle Apple and Elderflower juice, but I thought it tasted a bit odd. I won't bother again.

the Copella Apple and Elderflower juice is fab stuff, just make a wine No 1 up as per recipe, simply substituting the apple juice with the coppella, it should be just fine, the elderflowers add a great bouquet

                      regards
