    ok, pointers please.

I have just spent the morning clearing my new landshare, well some of it. I now have a 10m by 2m strip of south facing area, with very deep soil and an 8m wall along the back edge.

Will grapes grow? Is there anything i need to do to prepare the area? What variety would grow best? I'd ideally like a white and a red.

    Thanks in advance :-)

    Grapes will indeed grow Ric....

are you at wine circle on monday? (we can discuss at length)

    there are sooooooooo many variables.

I have cuttings you can take too

your thinking when grape growing is very different to normal gardening methods, and the subject is too deep to cover in any detail here.

however I would go for Rondo for reds and probably Pinot blanc or reichensteiner for whites (i have vines you can take cuttings from) you wonty plant vines though till next year....its too late this year

Yep I'll be at circle on Monday with my £10.

I'm looking at changing my late at work to a Tuesday to enable the drinking.

I'll bring a pen and pad
