i dont bother trying to dry my syphon tube, i keep it submerged in sterilising solution most of the time. when i dont have any then i use the syphon tap to join both ends together and fill it with sterilising solution or campden solution. i rinse it out when i want to use it ofc.
To most people solutions mean answers. To chemists solutions are things that are mixed up.

The only downside to soaking plastic tubes in sulphite solution is that they go opaque.....they still work ok though

mine goes opaque in VWP, but returns to clear after a rinse. i often wonder what chemistry is going on, or if its just a coating (electrostatic perhaps?). I suspect the latter as it has lost none of its properties.

Just a thought but we couild license this as a new sport. Skipping with siphon hose. I can think of numerous advantages. Keeping fit and really dry siphon hose. Just think, the fittest people would be the people that produced the most wine and the fitter you are, the more you could feel justified in consuming. There has to be a YouTube video in that somewhere.

I haven't got a video cam but I have a digital stills cam that can capture video, don't know if that is good enough

If we get a half decent day I will give it a go

Speaking of YouTube posts and really off subject here but has anyone seen the video of the female news reporter grape stomping. Search for something like grape stomper falls. V. funny (when you realise the woman is not really hurt). I mention this as it is important to understand the dangers of wine making. Grape stomping accidents, skipping hose whiplash...
