  • Storing wine #1

I have made a few variations on wine#1 using different fruit juices and was planning to store a bottle of each type for around 6 months until the summer. Will the wine be o.k. to store that long?
I followed the recipe and did not add any campden tablet during the racking/bottling. Any ideas?

in my early brewing days i often didnt use campden, and i only knew of two bottles that popped (one in my bedroom which made the room smell amazing for a few months, and one that gifted to someone). so as long as the wine fermented out you should be ok on that front. tho i would recommend campden and sorbate these days. And tho i am a wine number 1 virgin (soon to lose that cherry tho ) from what i do know otherwise your storage will be absolutely fine as far as quality is concerned, for that length of time too.

better to store your bottles lying down and somewhere cool with as steady a temperature as possible. its just all good news eh!

edit: i should clarify the bottles that "popped" only popped their corks.
To most people solutions mean answers. To chemists solutions are things that are mixed up.
A fine wine is a fine wine, 1st time may be by accident, 2nd time is by design - that's why you keep notes.

Thanks for the response, I have stored the bottles lying down in a cool dark place so hopefully they will be ok in the summer. Cheers.
