Just a quick one folks - what's the Gervin equivalent of KV-1116?

  • #2
I dont think there is one....

The K at the start of the name indicates it is a "killer" strain, meaning it will dominate all other yeasts poresent, Gervin dont have one of those.

what are you fermenting with it?

there will be a Gervin yeast to suit for sure

    regards
    Bob

I want to have a backup to rescue stuck ferments and for use in e.g. heavy meads where the environment is going to be tough going for garden variety yeasts.

KV-1116 sounds like the man for the job.

Trying to order put an ingredients order in with thriftyshopper but they don't seem to have lalvin yeasts.
