Has anyone made this wine and if so is it worth trying? Also, is there any particular variety of potato I should be looking to use?

If I'm being honest, potato, corn, and other starchy vegetables rank right close to the bottom of my list of things that make good wine. I've tasted most of them and have yet to come across one that's pleasant enough to actually enjoy.

In case you're curious as to what comes in at the very bottom of my list of worst wines, it's this one: http://www.armywormwine.com/

          Steve,

Have you actually tasted that stuff???

I guess if the grubs were eating wormwood you could end up with absinthe style wine?

Yes indeedy. My first year judging at our state fair, I was assigned to the "any other wine" category and the dude in that link entered a bottle of the stuff.

I try to be open minded and gave it my best effort. The taste was ok, but it had a horrid smell reminiscent of rotting vegetables.
