  • Isinglass Cloudy

    Hi Guys

Just been and checking on the wine and I've noticed that the Isinglass has gone a cloudy colour in the packet, and is no longer clear. What does this mean if anything?

    Thanks

Quite normal, it is just settling out, give it a quick shake in the pouch before adding.

So even though its cloudy and has bits floating around its still good to use?. I did read that their is a shelf life of only 6 - 8 weeks for isinglass. Just want to be sure before adding to the wine that im not spoiling it in anyway.

      Cheers

How long have you had it, or what date is on the kit?

I have the production sticker but cant see any obvious date of production. 6 digit code of 000321 and a 13 digit code 14581 3045 0128. I started the kit as soon as it arrived 22 days ago.

Well if it is part of a kit then the 6 to 8 weeks shelf life theory is out the window as most kits have a good 12 to 18 month date on them.

Use it, it will be fine, it has happened to me in the past, just give it a shake.

Ok will do. Tomorrow I start de-gassing after I rack. Shall sample and taste and see how things are progressing.

              Thanks for advice.
