So how about just using 3 or 4 cans of frozen apple concentrate to a gallon to get the same effect from the freezing. Around here, any apple left long enough to freeze on the tree will have been visited by birds and wasps and wouldnt be worth using. Crackedcork

Cork - Yep I think wasps may be a problem at all locations. However, fall season at these locations are not extended. A good middle or end of September frost kills many of the bugs. Also the cultivar of apples that they are using for this process is late season - Granny Smith and takes much longer to mature.

We all know the benefits of the longer in contact with the grape skins, the magic of the grapes frozen on the vine and the resulting ice wine and now the excelled flavours of the thick apple nectar extracted from the frozen apples. Each to their own - all try to make use of everything that is available to them in their harsh environment? Anyway Cheers DAW
