            • Drinking remnants of strawberry wine. It won grand champion at the Dakota County Fair beer & wine competition this evening.

Took home 5 blue ribbons (1st in class) for:
              • Tuscan Blend (Sangiovese & Cabernet) - Dry Red
              • Chardonnay - Dry White Wine (Reserve Grand Champion)
              • Late Harvest Chardonnay & Chenin Blanc Blend - Sweet White Wine
              • Strawberry Wine - Dry Berry (Grand Champion)
              • Orange Muscat Port - Specialty Wine, dry or sweet

Plus 2 red ribbons (2nd in class) for:
              • Apple Wine - Dry Fruit, not Berry
              • Pomegranate, Dry - Open Class

All in all, not bad. By my count, there were about 72 entries in all. A fairly decent turnout for county level competition.

Next up... the state fair. We usually have 600+ entries in that competition. The pressure is on.

                              • I'm enjoying a bottle of my pineapple blush. I suddenly realised that stocks are running low and I haven't put a new batch on yet.

You know how it is ...

Darrel, I love my turbo cider. Do you use any malic acid, or rhubarb, to add the sourness that crab apples would add?
