  • tonight we are first racking our 3 gallons of plum as its looking a bit crowded in the dl's after that we have all the xmas beer kits to get going 2 youngs bitter and one 1.8kg brewmaker ipa to get going i also have to go to the allotment shed and check the two batchs of apple wine thats on the go, after that lot we are scrubbing a pair of barrels out to start the elderberry off, then i might have a glass or two,

i love cycling to work i have not got to worry about being breathalized , heaven
Wine from grapes is alright, but nothing beats the proper stuff to make wine with.

    • Racked 1 gal Wine No.1 + indeterminate Freecycle Grapes (I must think of a snappier name).

Sugar-fed Ciliegiolo port (now at 18%) and Black cherry Port (17%).

      • Merlot 2009

Added another dose (7.5gms) of fermaid-k after 40% depletion of Brix

        Tasted juice.

        Bloody lovely.

Temp is 72.5 C and Brix is at 16. Started off at 24 on Sunday!

I meant 72.5 F of course! Just for the sake of accuracy.

                      • Today, we've bottled Brian's 2nd run wine kits, and some Rosé. Only 90 bottles. Then we've put another kit on to brew!

The Christmas beer has been transferred to a king keg and primed. Milestone IPA this year.

New corker performed well thanks Karl.

                        • I've got two white kits to move from primary to carboy. Haven't checked the sg yet, but they should be good-to-go, they were started 8 days ago, and I've kept the temp about 23C.

I won a Spagnols "hard lemonade" kit in a raffle over the weekend. I'm thinking about starting that.

                            • A couple of SG checks - that's it

My wine is gridlocked - I have no room, so until I do some serious drinking I can't bottle anything, nor start anything else
