True,,,but then if it has a RRP of £62 it kind of puts it up with a lot of the more famous kits,,California Connoisseur, beaverdale and such. Just having a look at some now and it would be a dearer kit!! So if anyone has done the more dearer kits it would be interesting to see how they compare???

Mine turned up today,,,good to see it has quite a long use by date on it,,got to wait for an empty carbouy now..

Beware RRP normally fiction, of the kind Steven King would be proud.

"Running out of bottles" - think bottle bank not only for deposits but also for withdrawals ! You could even consider a load arrangement!

Can't see why not, not sure if it'll get it sparkling enough, but should put a reasonable fizz into it. Apart from force carbonating it, I can't see an easy way to get it fizzy. Unless the f pack is full of non fermentable sugars.

But, having a few cornies around I'll be trying it. Maybe on half first in a little corniie.

It does. 1/2 fill. Chill down. 100PSI shake. Top up gas (repeat). Lay of side. Keep pressure topped up. 3 days later bottle quickly while cold in cold champagne bottles.

If you really want to cheat but some champagne crown caps.

                    Done!

Sounds a bit too elaborate Brian, I'm planning on dispensing from the Cornie

LOL. I do too!! Even easier. Chilling & Temp seems to be the trick. Standing the corning in a bucket of ice works a treat.

OK, I think I'll get one ordered then, it's gonna last for a good couple of years in a good corny too so it will only get better! I should have been a bit clearer with my question as I was really asking if you thought the wine would work as a sparkling version but your answer is obviously yes then!!!

Alan....buy now, make later. The kit will be good for a few months until you've emptied/gathered 30 bottles. Keep cool, if possible.

Has anybody noticed a date on these kits? It would probably be a date of manufacture.

The use buy date on my kit was Dec 2012.
My hydrometer read 1.06 tonight so it went into the secondary fermenter. Unfortunately it is rather light in colour and lacks real body. I'm no expert and very new to this hobby, but I think I've only got what I paid for with this kit. The big test is only a couple of weeks away as I have a Beaverdale of the same wine type clearing at the moment.

                                Regards Alan
