  • Blackberrying

So who has started blackberrying this year? We ended up being really lucky in tha fact my allotment backs onto the biggest bramble patch you have ever seen. Yesterday we cut a couple of paths into it and got 6lbs of blackberries (this time for bramble jelly but theres more to come for wine making) and we barely scratched the surface theres is probably 2 plots worth of bramble in the corner and the best part is it is only accesible from my plot, so they are all mine muahahahahaha!

OOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooohhhhhhhhhh..... where in Derby are you.... and can I come and "help" you?

Most of the blackberries that I've found locally are all either really small, or aren't out in full fruit yet... I'm lucky to be able to pick 1LB at a time when I'm out with the dogs, I'm just hoping that I either find a suitable patch with BIG lush fruit, or that the rest hurry up and get ripe!

I'll have a gallon of blackberry in the very near future.

The best thing was that it was the easiest picking ever..........picked out of my aunts freezer

        About 4lb in weight. Excellent.

        regards

My BB's were over with by 2nd week in July. Actually what happens is it gets too hot for them to bloom any longer. So hot some shrivel up before fully ripe regardless of water applied.
