  • Hua Guang Pear Wine

Was given a box of Hua Guang Pears by a Chinese friend for Christmas, they look like apples, taste like apples, but are called Pears

Just wondered if anyone had used these in wine before or should I try an Apple / Pear recipe to get going with?

I think they're also called Ya Pears. I've never made wine from them, but treating it like an apple/pear wine seems like a reasonable approach.

I know these fellows from working in Soho many years ago they were sold as "Ice Pears" I made a search and got iced pears with icecream, very nice but not what I was looking for, here is a better result, hope it helps, Wendy.
