  • Quinces

Hi all - just collected 20 or so quinces of a bush I have never found a use for before! - has anyone tried juicing them, and if so any success, get much out etc etc

Failing which I guess its the grating, boiling and fermenting on pulp recipe.

    Soz - meant STEAM juicing.

Don't use boiling water on stoned fruit, it will become very difficult to clear, and may taste stewed

Wow - depiped them, quartered them, froze them, steam juiced them - got 3 pints from 4.5 lbs - taste is a beautiful tangy lemon/lime flavour - far more promise than I had feared as they were green (but falling off bush) - now to see what fermentation problems it might encounter.
