  • What fruit in your freezer

Just wondered what frozen fruit youve got in your freezer ready for winemaking?
    ive got blackberries 18 pound
sloes 2 pound(bloody things ....sore thumb and all)
    Elderberies 11 pound
bilberries 2 pound (hard to pick )
    Damsons 10 pound.
On the go 5 gallon of damson and 5 gallon of damson and greengage.(very lively).
All the above picked for free, got to get some more elderberries as the trees are loaded with ripe berries and will be for some weeks to come .Not sure if its because of all the rain we have had over the last few months but there seems to be much more free fruit around.

Not sure of the weights, but I have 2 massive bags of Strawberries, small bag of Raspberries, several bags of rhubarb.

Not sure if they are going to be for wine or pies yet

20+ pounds mulberries, 20+ pounds of blackberries, 20+ pounds of strawberries, 20+ pounds of tropical fruit - these are all for Mead. Also have 20 pounds of blueberries for my Heavy bodied blueberry wine, 10 pounds of raspberries, 5 pounds of cherries and 5 pounds of valiant grapes for use in other wines or when I need a citric or malic addition. Fermentation will start soon. DAW

8oz - yes, ounces - of elderberries is all I got from the only tree I know of. Apparently, there used to be hundreds around the area but they're all gone now. Ditto sloes, and it seems ditto blackberries too. I am not a happy bunny.

I have a hard, little moldy bit of something in my freezer. Might be cheese. Hard to tell, though.

Think I need to make a grocery run.
