              • OK

                have opened the gooseberry.

firstly let me say...beautifully presented bottle, love the label, and the care you have obviously taken with it (mine woont be this good looking)

the wine is "star bright" (highest level of clarity)

the nose is a teeny bit flat (some elderflowers or elderflower cordial in the mix would improve this) but not a bad nose at all... I'm getting a little sulphite, not a lot but a little.

on the palate the wine is crisp and clean, good acidity (gooseberry can be overpowering) and it has good structure, very pleasant on the mid palate, and a cracking lingering finish.

All in all a great job Carole...well done a very good wine indeed.

not a critiscism, but have you tried sweetening some a teeny bit? I think it would be fantastic wine with a tad more sweetness.

I didn't think it would get to you until at least tomorrow. And I am glad that they got there intact

I haven't tried sweetening it, as I do prefer drier wines...
But I will try that the next time I open a bottle, just to see the difference it makes.

Oh, I wouldn't worry about it Karl
The other wine I sent, posed a little bit of a problem for me, so I dont think Bob will be so kind with that one
