Would these be alright to store wine in bulk? I have loads of these that we have only ever used to carry water. http://www.amazon.co.uk/25-Litre-Wat...ef=pd_cp_diy_0

Ditto Pete's comment....Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the street with a bald head and a beer gut, and still think they are sexy.

Pretty sure Cellar Rat uses these or similar to bring wines on quickly. I think you have to tip them while filling to reduce the headspace. HDPE allows oxygen permeation so no longer than a few months for bulk storage then bottle. There has been much discussion on HDPE in the past so you may wish to have a search for more info. Bob provided a great description of the various plastics and their properties which you can find herehttp://www.winesathome.co.uk/forum/s...pes+of+plasticOkay, now I get it. The difference between drinkable and ready....

They use similar on the beer brewing side for unfermented wort - They are referred to as No chill cubes or something. Idea is to fill as much as possible then squeeze all air out as much as possible then leave/store until the brewer is ready to ferment.
