  • Tonight for me it's a wine number 2 (medium cranberry) that didn't go to Telford because it threw a sediment.

    • My inaugural Wine No.1. It's a medium - I prefer my whites med-dry to dry, but I guess that's what you get if you use cheap yeast which quits early

Perfectly drinkable though - crystal clear and with no dodgy smells or tastes. New and improved (I hope) batch starting shortly

          • A boxed Chilean Cab Sauv I won at Telford, quite pleasant but was shocked at the amount of floaters for a commercial wine.

                • Tonight, 3/4's of a bottle of Winexpert Pacific Quartet (this years Ltd edition) left over from this weeks bottling. Absolutely fantastic. I'll give it 3 months then try another bottle, can't wait!! Not aged at all yet, but it did have a small F pack and it's brill.

                        • Lemonade for me in the heat at the county fair. $3 a 12 oz. plastic cup. OUCH. Illegal to consume alcohol in public here. I know, sad-so sad.

I have so much blackberry wine in cases that I am not using any of this years' crop for wine. I have started alot of blackberry liqueur with fresh berries in the past month. They are still ripening, and I may yet put some away in the deepfreeze.

'04 Blackberry in my glass tonight. Just a tad off-dry and very fruity with just enough American oak to know it is there. 11% abv. Very nice.

How are you making the blackberry liquer?

                              Very good question...

The local blackberries will be ready soon ....

I had hoped to mix some for a port blend...
But would really like a few options ....

                              • While walking the dogs this morning I saw that the local blackberry bushes are going to be teeming with fruit at some point, and I'm keen to try a port type wine this year.

I don't seem to have any recipes that appeal - does anyone have a yummy tried and tested one I could perhaps use?

I'm also about to inherit another freezer from my Mum so I'm planning carefully what I'm going to have room to freeze, and blackberries certainly feature VERY highly on my list.
