      More Pictures ...

Some more pictures of my progress with the gooseberry wine....

Using the nylon straining bag... Into the DJ...

The DJ is filling up nicely

      Pure Juice...

I actually had a little more than a full DJ of gooseberry Juice... So by the time the sugar was added, and the SG worked out... I had enough must to have a pure gooseberry juice wine... and a half gooseberry half grape juice wine... with a little bottle left over to top up with.
      Happy Days

The pure gooseberry is sitting at 1.080...
The gooseberry/grape juice is at 1.078...

      Both are now blooping away

        Hmmmm....

        Just an after thought....
I am now making up an Apple wine #1 and a Grapefruit wine #1...
Citric acid is part of the recipe in these...

Should I add some to my gooseberry ?
Or even the gooseberry/grape mix ?

        None, one or both ??

        As always, all comments appreciated

Test acid if you can or have the means. You might can even taste it and decide if it needs any acid. If it tastes very bland, it needs it. If it tastes sharp and fruity, it is probably fine.

I dont have an acid tester kit
I guess thats on my list of things to buy next...
I just tasted the juice, from my top up bottle... and it did draw my cheeks in... So I dont think I will bother putting any citric acid in.

I have just bottled this (using the new floor corker ) I had 12 bottles
And the verdict is not too bad...
I expect it will mellow with age...
Unless something drastically wrong happens to it over the next 9 months , I do believe I will be having a cheeky glass of this years efforts, whilst making next years
